Tianjin Quanjian have rubbished rumours that claimed that Chelsea forward Diego Costa had signed a pre-contract with the Chinese Super League club.
The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a move to the far-east, ever since the CSL outfit made a mega money bid for him in January.Chelsea were quick to shoot down the bid, but it did turn the 28-year-old’s head, as hie performance suffered a dip.
Recently, reports suggested that the former Atletico Madrid star had agreed a pre-contract agreement with Tianjin, but the club have outrightly denied all such claims.
Tianjin added that they have made no contact with the Brazil born talisman.
“With regard to the widespread rumours that Chelsea’s Diego Costa is expected to join Tianjin Quanjian, our club want to clarify that so far, we have not been communicating with Diego Costa regarding the transfer,” the statement read.
Diego Costa’s future has been the most talked transfer rumour being discussed lately, with the striker adding fuel to fire.
Just last month the striker told SFR Sport: “I’m happy at Chelsea. But I’m not saying I’m happy with my life in London, because that is something totally different — the one thing has nothing to do with the other.”
Even the Chinese side have been igniting the rumours, with their owner claiming that their new signings will be on par with Costa.
The owner said: “It remains to be seen who will join us in June but I can assure you that the new players will be on the same level as Costa.”
Chelsea will be hoping that a title win would help change their top scorer’s mind to stay put at the club.
