Henrikh Mkhitaryan

and Tottenham has been battling out this summer to rope in the services of Dortmund midfielder . According to recent media reports the Armenian playmaker has demanded a substantial pay hike for making a summer switch to the Premier League.

Rumours suggest that the incoming coach is also interested in signing the talented midfielder this summer to bolster his midfield options. With one year left in his contract at Dortmund it is believed that he could be available at a lower fee.

According to recent media reports, Italian giants had offered Mkhitaryan £3.1m a year to lure him away to but it is believed that Mkhitaryan camp is pushing for a wage in the region of £4.6m.

have had been the storehouse of talented players in the recent past. With of , Mario Gotze and captain Mats Hummels moving out to and most recently Gundogan joining Man City, Mkhitaryan is believed to be the next to leave the German side.

Mkhitaryan had an incredible last season at Dortmund with 18 goals and 20 assists to his name in all competitions. His playmaking abilities coupled with Aubameyang’s pace and Reu’s ball control and clinical finishes in cohesion, contributed in making Dortmund a lethal attack in the last season. Dortmund finished 2nd on the league table, just 10 points behind the champions Bayern Munich.

It would be interesting to see where the Dortmund midfielder lands up this summer. A switch to premier league side spurs will make him the highest paid player in the club. Critics believe that any offer below the demanded fee could cancel out his chances of moving to Tottenham.

However if he chooses to move out to Spur’s cross town rivals Arsenal, the talented midfielder will manage to pull up a wage greater than Olivier Giroud (£3.1m), but way below their highest paid player Mesut Ozil (£7.2m).

Tottenham are yet to get lucky with no tranfer signings so far, Arsenal on the contrary have roped in the services of talented Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka for £30m.
