The summer transfer window is heating up and with players and managers coming back from their post-season break, the clubs have been splashing up cash to get the best deals.
There’s still over six weeks left before the window slams shut at the end of August and there will be a boatload of business done between now and then – even if Big Sam takes the England job.
Here’s a list of deals, gossips and news:
Chelsea hold on to Nemanja Matic.
Matic is currently being eyed by Manchester United and Juventus, with the Blues being clear of a ‘no-deal’ for the Serbian. Interestingly, United and Juventus have both sounded out Matic through intermediaries with the 27-year-old interested by the prospect of a move to Old Trafford in particular.
Costa to leave Chelsea? Well apparently that is exactly what he has informed coach Antonio Conte and club owner Abramovich.
Diego Costa wishes to join Atletico Madrid, according to AS. Costa remains Atletico’s top choice and the Spanish club will make another move, having failed last season, before the transfer window ends.
‘All in his hands’!
Leicester City coach Ranieri is on his last straws it seems as he wants N’Golo Kante to make a decision over his future fast. Chelsea are confident of signing the France international in a £30m deal with Chinese club Shanghai SIPG also offering a hefty £35m for the midfielder.
Deadline for Pogba?
Paul Pogba’s agent wants the player’s future to be decided by the end of July, according to various reports. Spanish outlet Marca say Mino Raiola is keen for Pogba’s next move to be tied up before the transfer window enters its final month. Manchester United leads the transfer deal but in-demand-player wishes to join Real Madrid!
LFC’s Jordon Ibe join Bournemouth.
Bournemouth have signed Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe on a four-year deal for a club record £15m. The 20-year-old joined the Reds from Wycombe Wanderers in 2011, but struggled to find regular first team football under Jurgen Klopp.
Payet 100% for West Ham!
The 29-year old was one of the break-through players from last season, as the French international carried his club form into the Euro’s for his national team. While the former Lille and Marseille star did admit reports linking him with the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea in recent weeks were flattering, Payet revealed that his affection for the Irons is too strong to throw away.
