Manchester City bosses are ready to offer Pep Guardiola a new £20m-a-year deal to make him the best paid manager in the world of football.
Man City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak will sanction the £5m-a-season pay rise after holding a meeting with Guardiola at the end of the season.
Guardiola still has 18 months left on his current contract he signed when he took charge at City in the summer of 2016.
Manchester City has displayed incredible form this season and are clearly playing the best football in Europe. It is being said that Guardiola is loving his second season in the English top-flight and wants to commit his long-term future to the club.
Guardiola struggled in his debut season in the Premier League. The Spaniard endured a trophyless campaign last season as he failed to challenge for the title and also crashed out of the Champions League after defeat against AS Monaco in the semi-finals of the European competition.
He had doubted his methods and philosophy after failing to meet the club’s expectations last term but this time around it is a different story altogether.
