Chelsea Will Have A Busy Transfer Window Claims Chief Scout

Pioet de Visser, Chelsea’s chief scout has said that the West London giants will be having a very busy transfer window as billionaire owner Roman Abramovich wants to build on a bad season.

Chelsea were title favorites for 2015/16 season as the Blues looked to defend their title.

But by December, Chelsea were struggling to stay out of the relegation zone, lying at sixteenth position.

After an embarrassing run of defeats popular manager Jose Mourinho was sacked despite huge backing by the fans.

Former manager Guus Hidink was appointed as interim manager, who helped the Stamford Bridge based outfit to a tenth place finish.

During which some of the clubs academy players were given a chance to play at the highest level.

With speculations running wild about the next permanent boss, Italy’s national team coach Antonio Conte was announced as the new boss for next season.

Conte will reportedly be given a blank cheque by the Blues owner and the former Juventus manager has already identified his first few targets.

Conte has asked Chelsea to put forward a £101 million bid for Juventus’s Paul Pogba, while his club team-mate Alvaro Morata is also on the 46-year old head-coach’s radar.

Roma playmaker Miralem Pjanic has been heavily linked with Chelsea in the recent weeks.

“Chelsea will have a very busy summer,” de Visser told The Sun.

“Abramovich is desperate not to have another terrible season. I’ll be as busy as I was in 2003-2008.”

Abramovich has spent a huge fortune in the last decade on signing established big name players, but according to Visser the transfer policy may change from the coming season.

With young players, who can take the club forward becoming a priority.

“Mr. Abramovich had to pay an absolute fortune to get players like Didier Drogba and Michael Essien.

“This is why he has asked me to look for top class young players who will be the Chelsea stars in three years time,” de Visser added.

One player that might fit the bill is Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, who earlier this week admitted that offers from Chelsea and Arsenal are ‘tempting’.
