Former Liverpool star Xabi Alonso has praised Jurgen Klopp’s impact on the club.
Klopp replaced Brendon Rodgers in October last year and Alonso feels that the German has embraced the Anfield culture naturally.
This is Klopp’s first full season as Liverpool boss and the former Borussia Dortmund boss has already transformed the Reds into genuine title contenders.
Liverpool are third in the Premier League, tied on points with league leaders Manchester City and Arsenal on points but trail on goal difference.
Klopp, himself has described his style of football as “heavy metal”.
Alonso, who won Champions League with Liverpool in 2005 said that he was impressed by how the 49-year-old has fared at Anfield so far.
“It was a big boost for the city and the club to have such a prestigious manager wanting to manage Liverpool,” Xabi Alonso said.
“He has embraced the culture of Liverpool, the tradition but also the hunger to deliver and to do something important.”
Having scored 20 goals in nine matches this season, Liverpool are Premier League’s best attacking side, along with City, “They are so, so enjoyable to watch and they are [involved] in great games.” Alonso added
“They have beaten Arsenal in London and Chelsea in London as well.”
