The French forward has been heavily linked with a mega-money move to Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in the summer.
And Liverpool legend Gerrard was not coy over speaking his heart out on rumours that Griezmann can make a switch to Premier League giants Manchester United at the end of the sason.
Speaking to BT Sport, Rio Ferdinand said: “He’s [Gerrard] is devastated if he signs for United.”
To which Gerrard replied: “Not half.”
The anchor asked Ferdinand: “You’re Griezmann’s agent where you going to put him?” before Gerrard cracked a joke – “as far away from Manchester as you can find”.
French superstar Antoine Griezmann has now refused to rule out a move away from Atletico Madrid in the summer – but not to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
This will now be a huge boost for Premier League giants Manchester United, who are keen on securing the services of the £86million-rated French striker in the summer.
Current Premier League leaders Chelsea have now joined Manchester United in the race to rope in Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann.
Foottheball sources have now revealed that Chelsea have shown huge interest in securing the services of Griezmann in the summer.
Atletico Madrid had inserted a buy-out clause of £86min Griezmann’s contract and they are aware that they cannot stop their superstar from leaving if any club meets his release clause.
And Conte is confident that Chelsea will pull back and will match any Manchester United offer.
But it is believed that Mourinho would not give up hope as the Portuguese boss has now asked the club to break the bank in order to rope in big names in the summer.
Griezmann has displayed incredible form for Atletico Madrid in the last few seasons and is being considered as one of the best players in the world.
And even Steven Gerrard admitted that he is one of the best.
He added: “I think he’s one of the best players at finding space and hurting teams in between the lines.”
“To see him with my own eyes tonight, I’m really looking forward to it.”
