Teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe was welcomed by thousands of fans as he finally arrived at Paris Saint-Germain, his home town club.
He has joined the French giants on a loan deal that will make him the world’s second most expensive player after PSG will trigger the permanent £166m buy-out option next season.
It seemed that the French striker was always eager for a move to PSG as he took part in his first training session at the club on Wednesday – with a smile on his face all throughout the session.
And he was quick to hit it off with Neymar on day one – the player who left Barcelona wondering what went wrong following his world-record transfer to PSG earlier this summer.
But it could have been a lot different as Mbappe revealed that he was wanted by Arsenal and for an instance he seriously considered a switch to the Emirates as he admires Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
“Yes, I met with Arsene Wenger, who is a great coach,” Mbappe told The Telegraph today as he was finally unveiled by the club.
“He has a great reputation here in France, he’s well-respected and knows how to develop young players. This was a real option for me.”
“But, of course, Paris Saint-Germain was the main option.”
The former Monaco man will now form blockbuster attacking force with Edinson Cavani and Neymar.
