Ozil Hints He’s Unhappy Under Wenger… But Will ‘Give All’ For Gunners

Arsenal contract rebel Mesut Ozil slammed critics, claiming: “I’ll always give everything for Arsenal.”

Mesut Ozil has hinted he is not happy that Arsene Wenger is playing him on the right wing this season

The German playmaker has entered the final ten months of his current contract at Arsenal and has turned down a new mega-money deal with the Gunners.

Ozil has been heavily linked with a move away from the Gunners – with Manchester United reportedly interested in snapping him up in January.

The former Real Madrid player has drawn huge criticism this season and pundits have repeatedly questioned his commitment towards Arsenal.

The German star has failed to recreate his best form this season and has faced the ire of several Gunners legends, who have questioned his attitude.

But he has won the confidence of majority shareholder Stan Kroenke after his man-of-the-match display in their 5-2 win over Everton.

And Ozil said: “It’s very nice to hear Kroenke’s comments.

“I’m happy here and do my job to 100 per cent, as I always have.

“I give everything and leave it all on the pitch for the team.

“As for whatever else happens, we will see in the future.”

But Ozil hinted that he is not happy playing out of position for Arsene Wenger.

Ozil has refused to sign a new contract at Arsenal

Ozil told Sky Sports: “I’m someone who needs to have fun on the pitch.

“Everyone knows my favourite position is the playmaker — the No 10.

“At the moment the coach plays me on the right and it’s a thing I need to accept.

“I’m happy to give good displays, yet it’s more important we do that as a team.

“We have quality, but must believe in ourselves. If we can do that, I am certain we will go on and win things.”
