Isco has made it known that he wants to see Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea at Real Madrid.
But Isco’s wish to bring De Gea at the Bernabeu has now reportedly caused a dressing room controversy.
The Los Blancos have not yet dropped their interest in De Gea, despite seeing a deal for the Spaniard falling down two years ago.
Los Blancos almost signed De Gea in 2015, before the defending Champions League champions laid the blame on a faulty fax machine for failing to rope in the Spanish keeper from Man Utd at the 11th hour.
The Los Blancos bosses have not given up yet and are reportedly monitoring De Gea’s availability despite the fine form of Keylor Navas.
The Spaniard’s current contract with Man Utd will expire in 2019 and rumours claim that Real Madrid are planning to launch a mega bid next summer in order to force the Red Devils to sell their most prized asset.
But according to Spanish website Diario Gol, Isco’s wish to bring De Gea to Real Madrid has not gone down well in the Los Blancos dressing room.
Reports claim that Isco is leaving no stones unturned to convince De Gea to make a switch to the Bernabeu at the end of the season.
And reports also claim that De Gea has taken this seriously and is weighing in the chance of playing for Zinedine Zidane.
But according to Diario Gol, several members of the Real Madrid squad are not impressed with Isco’s decision.
They believe that Isco’s desire to bring his pal De Gea at the Bernabeu will be like backstabbing their current No 1 Navas.
Navas rose to fame after his 2014 World Cup heroics for Costa Rica – guiding them to the quarter-finals against all odds.
But the 30-year-old keeper proved his mettle after helping the Los Blancos to win the Champions League twice and also the La Liga title.
And now Costa Rican FA president Rodolfo Villalobos has urged the Real bosses to stick with Navas.
“I think that Navas has been surrounded by rumours ever since he arrived at Real Madrid,” he told Marca.
“At Real Madrid he has been a fundamental part of the titles the club has won.
“He has demonstrated that he deserves to be at Real Madrid.
“If Navas were to leave, Real Madrid would lose more than he would. He is writing his own story at Real Madrid and we hope that he stays there for many years.”
