Rojo Facing Retrospective FA Ban After Appearing To Stamp On Chelsea’s Hazard

Published on:

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo could now face a ban after it appeared that he stamped on Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard.

The Argentine centre-back lost his temper on several occasions during the FA Cup quarter-final clash with Chelsea and he also clashed with Diego Costa on more than one occasion.

During the high-octane clash between the two Premier League giants there were a number of serious challenges but the FA would now shift their attention to Rojo.

Hazard went down to the ground after being clipped by Rojo, who appeared to have stamped on the Belgian superstar while he was trying to jump over him.

And after the recent hullabaloo due to Tyrone Mings’ head stamp on Ibrahimovic, it is believed that the FA would now hand Rojo some serious punishment.

Mings’ head stamp on Ibrahimovic during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Hull City, saw him facing a five-match ban.

And now it appears that Rojo would receive a similar punishment and would miss games against Middlesbrough, West Brom and Everton.

Mourinho will now also miss midfielder Ander Herrera for at least a match after he was handed two yellow cards for challenges on Hazard.

But Antonio Valencia escaped any punishment after he it appeared that he flew in two-legged on N’Golo Kante, who scored the winning goal for Antonio Conte’s Chelsea.

Man Utd will now shift their attention towards Europa League and top-four spot in the Premier League table after crashing out of the FA Cup – suffering a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea on Monday.
