Brazil’s Vasco Da Gama Sacks Coach Cristovao Borges After -0 Loss To Vitoria

Published on:

Cristovao Borges has been sacked as coach of Brazil’s Vasco da Gama after a poor run of results, the Rio de Janeiro club said on Friday.

The announcement followed Vasco’s 1-0 loss to Vitoria in the third-round of the Copa do Brasil on Wednesday.

“Vasco appreciate the work done by (Cristovao), who always showed great dedication,” the club said in a brief statement.

Borges, 57, led the four-time Brazilian Serie A champions to five wins, four losses and two draws during his second spell in charge of the club.
