While everyone is raving about Arsenal’s incredible league campaign, there is a silent revolution going on in their youth ranks. The Gunners’ title charge this season has been built on the skill of several youngsters who have been impeccable this season. However, the team has already begun developing another batch of youngsters who will strengthen the club. One of them is 17-year-old right winger Amario Cozier-Duberry.

The teenager has been the talk of the town with his impeccable displays for the youth side and has also been part of several matchday squads for the senior team, which showcases his high ceiling. Duberry’s rise coincides with several peers, such as midfield prodigy Myles Lewis-Skelly, and the 18-year-old defensive wunderkind Brooke Norton-Cuffy

Duberry will also be motivated by the rise of Foalrin Balogun, who is going toe-to-toe with the best goalscorers in Ligue 1.

Who is Amario Cozier-Duberry?

Amario Cozier-Duberry was born in London on May 29, 2005, and started his career with Chettle Court Rangers FC. Duberry showed promise early on and ground his talent at the team for five years before being offered a trial by Arsenal. It was a dream come true for the youngster who grew up watching and supporting the Gunners.

Duberry passed the trials with flying colours and was immediately sent to the Hale End, where the Arsenal youth academy is situated. After being promoted to the under-18s, the teenager would make his debut on May 4, 2021, against Reading. Duberry would make the occasion with one assist and would get his first goal in the next match against Aston Villa.

In the 2021-22 season, Duberry would become an integral part of the under-18s playing 20 matches. He would also get games in the Premier League 2, EFL Trophy and FA Youth Cup. His graph has continued to rise this season as he has been named on the bench for several matches and also played a part in a friendly game against Juventus after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Amario Cozier-Duberry stats

Duberry started the 2021-22 season in style as he bagged two goals and three assists in his first four matches. After that, however, his form slackened a bit, and he would only add two goals and one assist till the end of the season. Still, it was an impressive showing for a player just 16 years old.

However, Duberry’s best season has been his current as he was promoted to the under-21s. Playing 15 games in the Premier League 2, Duberry scored three goals and provided three assists. In addition, he has also been in record-breaking form in the FA Youth Cup, scoring five goals and providing two assists in just four matches. He has played two games in the EFL Trophy, scoring two goals and providing one assist. Duberry has yet to make his Premier League debut, but with the talent, he has expected to get a few minutes for the senior squad.

The similarities with Saka doesn’t end there as Duberry also has a knack for making well-timed runs, allowing him to receive the ball from his teammates in a high-scoring position. Duberry also is tough to dispossess off the ball, a skill he uses to significant effect in the attacking third of the pitch.

Duberry is also an impressive dribbler off the ball and can generate enormous amounts of power with little foot swing, which helps him to put powerful crosses into the box.

Amario Cozier-Duberry Arsenal future

Duberry is at least a year or two away from being considered ready enough to before being considered to be prepared for the first time. And Arsenal would want to utilise the talent that they have at their disposal fully.

In addition, Mikel Arteta also has the luxury of promoting a few youngsters into the senior team at a time, given the high competition in the squad. However, there is no space for the too-talented and Duberry with his displays so far showing that he may be a future star for Arsenal.
